Central America's Largest Festival - La Ceiba Carnaval - Honduras

Are you fond of going to festivals and carnivals whenever you travel from one place to another? If you were to travel in Central America, you will find a lot of festivals to attend to especially in the Honduras. There is this small fair that has eventually grown to be a huge event and takes for about a week long to celebrate. The fair is more popularly known as La Ceiba Carnaval which is being celebrated by a lot of spectators every year.

If you are in Honduras in May you can't miss La Ceiba. During that time they celebrate the "Feria Isidra" to celebrate the patron saint, San Isidro. It is known as one of the largest and most important celebration held annually in Central America. The actual festival takes place at the third Saturday of May, but celebrations a week in advance.

It might not be as big as the carnival in Rio but is does offer many fun things to see and do. There are live bands, plenty of food and drinks which adds to a festive atmosphere.

The last day is the best one. It is called "Gran Carnaval de la Amistad". This day the main boulevard turns into a huge dance floor, with local musical bands and colorful floats.

This is a unique & authentic Latin American party that you will never forget. In it you will also be able to see whole animals being cooked in the streets, people gambling and vendors selling anything and overflows the sidewalks into the streets. If floats.

You will definitely find the whole experience allowing you to get that realistic glimpse of what the life in Central America really is. There are a lot of things for you to do. But of course you will get access to a whole different experience which you can consider a great treat for a worthwhile visit.

This town gets so full with people from all over the country that you will have to have a hotel reservation ahead of your arrival as getting a room during the carnaval is almost to impossible. To make sure that your plans turn out to be in place and you get to enjoy the whole carnaval event, you should plan and book ahead of time.

This is one great holiday in Honduras that you shouldn't miss at all. If you are planning to visit Honduras and spend a fun and exciting vacation with your family, make sure that you add this carnaval festival on your list of events to attend to.
