Cellulite Exercises - Do They Work?

Cellulite Exercises - Do They Work?

By:

Cellulite is the term given to the lumpy appearance of the skin which can accumulate around the thighs, legs and bottom. Whilst not technically confined to women, it is however more prevalent. Whilst it is not a disease, disfigurement or a sign that anything is wrong, it has become yet another measure of a persons beauty and because of this, like so many other beauty issues, it has become a large industry. So is it better to use creams and lotions, or perform cellulite exercises if youre looking to reduce cellulite?

Photographers employed by magazines for women are always keen to capture a quick snap that shows off a celebritys cellulite. Whilst it may go to prove that even the most glamorous women may be prone to cellulite, the rest of the advertisements and attention to it throughout the magazine can very often cause a degree of self consciousness in the reader. Whilst this is entirely deliberate and is indeed a powerful marketing method for anti-cellulite remedies, these remedies very rarely produce lasting effects.

If we look into the various treatments on offer, we should not be surprised to find creams and lotions ranking as the number one option for any women with cellulite. Easy to administer creams are applied to the effected areas and are supposed to strengthen and tighten the skin courtesy of the various vitamins and minerals included in the ingredients. Despite these creams having a very slight to no effect, if used religiously in the hope that positive effects will eventually be achieved, the financial investment grows and grows each year.

When creams and lotions fail to deliver the desired results, many women choose to try their luck with pills. With pills being available to treat such a massive range of ailments it seems reasonable to imagine they may also be able reduce cellulite. However, it should be kept in mind that there is nothing going wrong with the body to cause the appearance of cellulite, so it should also not come as a surprise when such pills fail to deliver results. When no positive effects are gained from this treatment either, the option is to keep on trying to see if it takes more time (and money) or to try something different.

One could certainly try a relaxing anti-cellulite deep tissue massage or two. Unfortunately, once the feel-good effects of being pampered and the relaxation of the massage fades away, one need not look very far to see little or no improvement. Some people do report a benefit but it is unfortunately short lived and only temporary.

Perhaps madam would care for an expensive course of anti-cellulite injections underneath the skin to address the issue? Whilst certainly a possibility, it is not often a serious consideration for most women.

When all the above quick fix treatments have been tried, there remains another alternative. An alternative that not only provides the positive results sought, but has many other long term health benefits. Exercise has always been an option for getting rid of cellulite and is a solid place to start. Aerobic exercise is useful for improving overall cardio fitness and helps shed any surplus weight. Being physically fit and healthy promotes feeling good and is a worthwhile investment in your body as a whole, but takes up valuable time. For busy women with little time in the day left to dedicate towards exercise there are a number of targeted cellulite exercises that directly target the key muscle areas and help to get rid of cellulite at a faster rate. Whilst not an overnight turnaround it is much quicker than general exercise and does not involve a recurring financial cost. It may be an option to be explored in more detail for those wishing to get rid of cellulite.
