Cell Phone Tower Lease - Wireless Tower

By:

Cell phone tower sites are locations where vacant land is used to set up antennas and electronic communications equipment to create a cell in a mobile phone network (cellular network). Cell sites are normally erected on landed property that is not owned by the tower companies or the wireless carriers. It is these service providers that get in touch with the property owner to gain access to property through a lease or license. With the rise in number of users in wireless phones, property owners have discovered that they stand to gain profitable returns in building and leasing cell phone towers on their properties.

These towers are generally mounted on buildings while some are concealed within artificial trees or figurines, or sculptures and are generally referred to as concealed towers. But the usual position of a cell phone tower is found on rooftops or church roofs.

Landowners or people intending to lease out their land or property to cell phone tower companies should be smart enough to have deals with several base stations instead of just one. This serves well for the companies as each station has its own different air interface technology.

A cell phone tower site would generally have:
A tower or some other elevated structure for the antennas
Digital signal processors
Control electronics
A GPS receiver for timing
A power backup for the electrical sources and
Finally a temporary shelter

Now, for a landowner its pretty evident that their sites can add considerable value to their property, and in some areas the value of the wireless tower site becomes more valuable that the property itself. Taking advantage of the situation many businesses have sprouted with the sole aim of catering to the companies interested in getting property for their towers. These businesses offer quite a hefty summing recent years, a large number of companies have formed with the singular purpose of acquiring these leases from property owners. These buyout companies offer lump sum payments to the land owners for leasing out either their rooftops or land sites to them. This has become a win-win situation for both the property owners as well as the companies.
