Celebrities And Sewing

By:

We always hear when celebrities mess up and make mistakes and things go wrong for them"so it"s nice when they make headlines with positive news!!
There is nothing new about the interest we take in celebrities but why is it we buy into their failures and encourage these stories to sell? We watch it on the television, we read about it in the papers and magazines, and we hear it on the radio...and now with Twitter and other social media sites we have become so obsessed with celebrities and their lives that we constantly feel the need to feed our appetites on what they're doing, wearing, eating and where they're going.
In a strange way we begin to feel like we know celebrities, as if they are our best friends, because they are massively exposed to us through the media 24/7.
David Beckham is one celebrity who's had his fair share in the limelight throughout his career. He's taken the bad with the good and still does!
Beckham went through a heavily publicised football career whilst playing for teams such as Manchester United, England, Real Madrid, A.C Milan and current LA Galaxy. Hes also had his private life heavily scrutinised including claims of an affair with former personal assistant, Rebecca Loos.
Beckhams fame extends beyond the football pitch and he's gradually become well known as a fashion plate, alongside his famous wife Victoria Beckham. Earlier in the year Beckham made headlines because he was embarrassingly caught out wearing his OBE medal incorrectly during the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Still, Beckham humbly switched the medal to the correct lapel and restored his fashionista title in no time, but, not before the press created a headline out of it.
It's cheered me up seeing him in the press on a positive note this week following his visit to the Philippines with UNICEF. Whilst there, he experienced for himself the skills the children are taught at one of the charities shelters including a session on the sewing machine, before taking the boys out on to the football pitch.
Hes even been in the headlines today after it was released he has no intention to move to the football sidelines when he hangs up his boots, claiming management isn't for him. His 5 year contract will soon end with LA Galaxy and, even though he's made it clear his passion to play the game is still as intense as ever, he has some big decisions to make before Christmas it obviously won't be following in the footsteps of Alex Ferguson or Fabio Capello though!!
Maybe he can take the skills he learnt with the sewing machine in the Philippines last week and consider a career in sewing and design?!!
