Located approximately 20 miles from Austin is the city of Cedar Park, Texas. Cedar Park is located off of US 183 and can also be reached using the cashless toll road of 183A. Cedar Park recently received accolades from Family Circle Magazine listing it as one of the top ten places to raise a family. Census data from 1990 to 2000 showed a 400% growth average and it is expected to rise to 83,500 residents by 2010. To help accommodate the growth of Cedar Park a Metro Rail system at Lakeline Blvd and Lyndhurt will serve a dual role as a bus stop. Cedar Park schools are a part of the Leander Independent School District. Based on information from the City of Cedar Park the school system includes 3 high schools, 6 middle schools, and 19 elementary schools. Cedar Park also boasts a public library located at 550 Discovery Blvd. The library offers puppet shows, story time, and classes. There are two major golf courses located in Cedar Park. Avery Ranch golf course consists of 226 acres and 18 holes and was ranked #1 by Avid Golfer Magazine for Best Innovative Design. Avery Ranch is also a daily-fee course. Also located in Cedar Park is the Twin Creeks Country Club. Twin Creeks is a Fred Couples Signature Course that opened in 2003. Twin Creeks does not offer daily-fees and sits on 195 acres with an additional 10 acres of driving range. An major upcoming attraction in Cedar Park is the Cedar Park Center. The Center will be located in the northwest corner or 183-A and New Hope Road. Very nearby is the 1890 Ranch shopping center. The plan for the site includes 11 buildings and 91,000 sq ft of retail and an equal amount of office space. Within the facility will be a 6800 seat event center. The Center expects to host many concerts, live entertainment, and the Texas Stars (American Hockey League affiliates of the Dallas Stars). Grand opening for the Cedar Park Center is slated for September of 2009. The Cedar Park Center promises to be a hub of activity in Cedar Park. Another striking component of Cedar Park is the vast availability of medical care. Cedar Park Regional Medical Center located at 1401 Medical Parkway is a start of the art medical facility that includes an ER, Intensive Care, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gastroenterology, and Labor/Delivery. There is an abundance of dentists, surgeons, sports medicine doctors, chiropractors, and pediatricians also available within Cedar Park. Along with great medical facilities you can find many opportunities for shopping. Lakeline Mall is located at 11200 Lakeline Mall Dr. Lakeline mall is near the intersection of 620 and 183 and includes shops such as: Macy's, Sears, Dillard's, JCPenney, and also a large food court. Just outside Lakeline Mall are other shopping areas that include Best Buy, Old Navy, Toys RUs, TJ Maxx, and Old Navy. Another great shopping adventure can be found at the 1890 Ranch. 1890 Ranch includes stores such as: Circuit City, PetSmart, GNC, Jamba Juice, Super Target, Baskin Robins, OfficeMax, Starbucks, and AT&T.
