Causes Of Lung Cancer

Scientists have revealed more than a few causes of lung cancer, but the most common are related to the use of tobacco. This includes tobacco from:Cigarettes, Cigars and pipes, Environmental tobacco smoke often termed as passive smoke.

Some more causes of the disease include:Asbestos, Radon, Pollution, Lung diseases.

Smoking:- Smoking causes lung cancer. Injurious carcinogenic substances in tobacco damage the lungs cells. Over a time period, the damaged cells tend to turn cancerous. The probability that a smoker will build up lung cancer is exaggerated by the age factor, at which smoking began, the cigarette-count smoked per day, and how deeply the smoker inhales.

By quitting smoking it deeply reduces the risk for a person to develop lung cancer.

Cigars & Pipes:- Its an established fact that the Cigar and pipe smokers have an elevated chance of lung cancer than nonsmokers. Even who do not inhale are at risk for mouth, lung, and other types of cancer.
Exposure to Environmental Tobacco Smoke ETS, or secondhand smoke, is called passive or involuntary smoking.

Radon- an odorless, invisible, and tasteless radioactive gas that occurs naturally in rocks and soil. It can cause damage to the lungs leading to lung cancer. People who work in mines may be exposed to radon.

Asbestos is the name of a collection of minerals that arise as fibers and are used in some industries. Asbestos fibers are likely to split easily into particles that float in air. When these particles are inhaled, they can deposit in the lungs, harming cells and growing the risk for lung cancer.

Studies revealed that workers who have been under constant exposure to asbestos have a danger of developing lung cancer that is four times greater than that for workers who have not been bare to asbestos.
