Cataclysm is the third expansion for the world's most popular online game, World of Warcraft. Following up the amazing effort from the first two expansion, the Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King is an even more impressive effort resulting in the largest expansion to date.
With this much brand new content available, new and old players alike are going to be excited to get in there and experience it. This goes especially after the long decline that the game has suffered due to lack of things to do towards the end of WoTLK.
How much content you ask? Well in quests alone there are more new quests in Cataclysm than in the first two expansion packs combined. Over 3,000 new quests! That means a load of new stories to follow and a lot of new bosses to kill.
With that comes a level cap upgrade from 80 - 85 which means even established players with 6k gearscore are going to be derping around in greens killing farm animals for entrails again ... right?
Heck no! What you need to do is forget leveling like a chump with everyone else, you need to get a hold of one of the brand new
Cataclysm leveling guides that has just been released and that are being updated already. These guides tend to sell between $27 and $57 online but there are always discounts available if you look hard enough.
Leveling guides cover things like which zones are the most efficient for questing in, when to run instances to ensure your gear is not falling behind, when the diminishing returns for experience in dungeons kicks in and so forth.
The best leveling guides are the ones that feature in-game addons. With these guides you no longer have to refer to some external website, or PDF. You never have to leave the game. This is because the addon lists the next step of every quest including where to get it and what to do. It even puts a 3D arrow on your screen showing you which way to head. It's like being on auto-pilot!
More importantly, the good
in game addon leveling guides will continually readjust their quest steps to keep pace with you. For example, if you stop questing and go run Throne of the Tides or
Blackrock Caverns you are obviously going to make a fair bit of experience. The leveling addon will let you know that now you can skip the next 3 quest chains and move on to the next zone instead of doing worthless green quests.
That is the kind of help that is going to save you literally hours. No more alt-tabbing to Wowhead or Thottbot. Just play, level and collect loots.
My advice, pickup a leveling guide and a Cataclysm gold guide and get the best of both worlds.
