Cat Behaviors And The Mystery Behind Them

Everyone knows cats are one of the most mysterious creatures in the world. They move like hunters, sleek and quick. They are independent and agile, yet loving and sensitive. Cats are an enigma to some, playful pets to others. Many people try to comprehend cat behaviors and often find they are one animal better left unanalyzed.

There is a beauty an excitement to watching cats - how they move, the way they play, their inert attention to detail. Examining cat behaviors can be fascinating. While they are very territorial, cats learn to coexist among other cats fairly well. They adapt to their unique situations and environments, always aware that survival is of key importance.

A cat whisperer can tell you for certain that cats are very good at quickly judging a person's character. Cats are very selective about who they let inot their space. They are also insatiably curious and daring, wandering into unfamiliar spaces without hesitation.

House cats love to travel from yard to yard, exploring the grasses and earth of different territories. They can roam for miles and still find their way back home. Cats have a keen sense of smell and know as soon as you place the can opener on the can of tuna that a treat is coming!

If you lack the time or the space to pamper a dog, you should definitely consider getting a cat. Cats clean and comb themselves with their tongues, so they don't need to be washed; they get sufficient exercise even in a limited space that they don't need to be walked.

Cats that spend most of their time indoors become used to scratching objects, one of the more important cat behaviors to consider when adopting or buying a cat. They will tear up your furniture unless you buy a scratching post or something similar. Cats generally prefer "cat condos," scratching posts with additional features, and will return to play there, thus sparing your other belongings.

Cats as pets can be indoor, outdoor or both. Most cats enjoy going outdoors at least some of the time. They love to watch birds and other small animals scurry about, and may even try to pounce upon them. Although cats are said to have nine lives, there are dangers that threaten cats' lives. If you live on a busy street where many cars drive by at high speeds, it is best to keep your cat indoors.
