Carports, Options To Meet Your Specific Needs

Recently a friend of mine was talking about selling her home and moving. It was a home that she and her husband purchased when they were first married and now they had six children. They had definitely started to outgrow the home, but the big thing was that she was tired of not having a place to park her vehicle where it was covered. They didn't have a paved driveway so when it rained it was muddy and there was no good place to park her vehicle. When she needed to get something out of her vehicle and it was snowing or raining she would have to just stand outside in it.

She has a bunch of little children and so she would stand out in the rain or snow or even wind and load all of the children up. By the time she had them all loaded in the car there was really no point to doing her hair or getting ready for the day. I asked her if she had looked into adding a garage or a covered carport instead of moving and she said that she hadn't. Her thought was that they would have to attach to the home and there was really no good way to attach to the home.

Her side door was right there and the whole thing sounded like a big headache to her. She also figured that it would be very expensive and a big construction job. I knew that my brother-in-law had added a garage to his home that wasn't attached and it seemed like a pretty simple process.

As she got looking into it she was surprised by all of the different options out there. She realized that they didn't have to attach it to her home. That was a big plus. She also found that it didn't have to be very expensive and that there were tons of options. The other thing she loved was that she could customize it to meet her needs. The other thing that she was considering was that even with the option of covered parking they wouldn't be staying too much longer.

With that taken into consideration she was able to go with a carport that met her budget and her needs for the time they decided to stay. They have now sold their home and she and I were talking about it and she said that having done that before they sold their home increased the value of their home. She felt they came out with more than they would have without it. It paid off.
