Caring For Others With Philanthropic Giving

By:

Caring for those around you and in your community is one of the kindest and most fulfilling things that you can set your mind to. Caring for others can be referred to as Philanthropic Giving and is commonly thought of as an activity that truly sets us out as human, with the ability to think of those around us in an unselfish way. You can take part in a while host of activities to show that you care and help others.

Examples of Community Care Services activities include:

1.Delivering a newspaper for those who cannot leave their home For those that cannot leave their home, a newspaper is like a window to the outside world. If they are unable to walk about in the outside world, they are relying on information given to them to see what is going on. Having such information in the form of a newspaper will keep them busy throughout the day with something to read, along with stopping them from feeling disconnected from others.

2.Helping the disabled Those that are disabled may not be able to carry out some activities that others may be able to do. These include lifting heavy objects from a high shelf, fixing broken furniture, carry items from one room to the next and hoovering a room. These things may seem small to you, but to someone who is unable to do them through no fault of their own, they can seem like huge issues in their life. If you help out someone to do such things, they will feel much happier and relaxed thanks to your kind help.

3.Assisting the elderly with simple technical matters This can include helping set up a computer or phone, or setting up a TV channel for them. While the younger generation is adept with such things on account of having grown up with them and so have taken them on as normal things in everyday life, for the elderly population, such things will seem very new and perhaps confusing. If you help an elderly person with such an issue, it will seem like a small thing to you, but it will be a huge help to them.

4.Helping a younger child with reading/spelling This assistance is of great use to their child, as this is a skill that they will need in their adult life; literacy. And since you as a older child have learnt these skills in recent years, you will have the learning process fresh in your mind compared with an adult tutor and can perhaps help the child even more.

5.Polishing silver or metal for someone who needs it Polishing metal or silver can seem like a small task, but for someone who displays such items or takes care of their silver items, it can be a huge help. They will perhaps feel proud of their collection of items and will want them to appear polished whenever it is possible.
