There is no general manual in caring for orchids. Given the several types of orchids that exist, each approach needs to be tailor made. Their demands for amounts of water and light, temperature and humidity vary as they come from different areas. Knowledge is power, and knowledge is all you need in caring for your orchids.Exquisite flowers will be yours if you would only take care of your orchid. But that does not literally mean that you can't grow orchids indoors. The fundamentals of caring for orchids-water, light, temperature and humidity, should of course be appropriately given.Different types of orchids demand different ways of caring but as long as you know the basics of caring for orchids, then you are fine.

Temperature
One of the basics of caring for orchids is temperature. That's why it is very crucial that we get the required temperature range for the orchid variety you choose to grow. If you get the required temperature wrong, you might not find yourself with flowers to boast. Local temperature should be greatly considered before you choose your orchid. Choose wisely or you'll be sorry.

Humidity
Humidity is commonly confused with temperature. When we say humidity, this actually pertains to the moisture in the air. High humidity and high temperature are almost synonymous. Different orchids require different humidity levels so make sure you adjust humidity in your orchid's locale. If the orchid of your choice would not flourish in your location because of a difference in humidity, you can adjust this by purchasing humidity trays.

Light Levels
Light plays a pivotal role in the success of an orchid's flowering process. If your orchid is not receiving enough light, you might not be given the opportunity to see those exquisite flowers in bloom. If your orchid is exposed to intense light, the leaves may not grow healthy. Light is relative to orchid types.

Water
Most orchids just need minimal amount of water. A lot of orchid varieties have pseudo bulbs that store water and they usually prefer to be watered again when already dry. Watering of the orchid varieties without pseudo bulbs still requires some free time before the next time you water it.

Caring for orchids is no easy chore and you should learn everything that you can about orchids before committing yourself to rearing one. This in turn will help us determine the specific levels of water, light, temperature and humidity that are best for your orchid. An orchid that is healthy will reward you with beautiful flowers.
