Carcinophobia Treated With Hypnotism

The fear of cancer is among the most common phobias, and it is easy to see why. No one wants to develop cancer or see someone else suffering from the disease. Although it is normal to want to avoid getting sick, people with carcinophobia have an extreme amount of fear that frequently controls their lives. Overcoming the fear of cancer used to take months or even years, but with more knowledge of the phobia and improved treatments, this has changed. Proven hypnotherapy techniques can help people reclaim their health and well-being.

It isn't difficult to see what can cause carcinophobia. This phobia is linked to a fear of death, illness, and loss of control. In many cases, people feel upset by a loved one's experience with the disease. People who have lost a family member to cancer, or are at risk of developing the disease, live in fear of the day when they develop the disease.

The overwhelming anxiety created by cancer phobia can lead people to make surprising decisions. Some sufferers frequently go to hospitals to confirm they are not sick, while others avoid the doctor altogether, afraid of discovering that they have a disease. Those with the phobia will become worried if they experience the smallest signs of illness, such as a muscle ache, and wonder if it is a sign of cancer. People may do whatever it takes to avoid becoming sick.

People with a fear of cancer often believe they have much to fear. It's a chronic feeling that can affect both genders. A person might think, "Who will provide for the family if I get cancer?" or agonize over other critical issues. The phobia may be terribly sad for sufferers and their loved ones.

Sometimes, people can manage their phobias by simply avoiding the cause of their worry. People with arachnophobia can often cope by keeping away from spiders, and people with claustrophobia are careful to avoid tight, enclosed spaces such as closets. Carcinophobia, however, is different. Carcinophobia is triggered by an individual's deepest ideas and concerns. It can be unbearable for someone to experience a fear they simply cannot avoid. This leaves most people with carcinophobia in a chronic state of panic.

There are many phobia treatments in use today. Common ones involve therapy and medication. Talk therapy can generate good results, but it often takes a long time, up to many months for some patients. Medication works to relieve an individual's nervousness, but it neglects to fix the underlying causes of a phobia. Hypnosis is an option that delivers lasting results in a smaller period of time than other treatments. It is a leading choice because it is an effective, safe, and non-invasive choice of treatment.

Hypnotherapy combines stress-relief techniques with fear treatment to rapidly cure a phobia. A good program will start with relaxation therapy to help alleviate the emotional stress caused by fear. Once a person feels calm and relaxed, hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques can guide the unconscious mind into adopting a phobia-free thought process.

Traditional hypnosis uses direct, post-hypnotic suggestions to cure a fear. This method is very helpful when a person is receptive to it. The problem is, these traditional techniques are often ineffective because many people have a tendency post-hypnotic suggestions and unconsciously reject direct commands.

A serious phobia such as the fear of cancer calls for a more advanced form of treatment such as Ericksonian hypnosis. This form of hypnosis works best for those who are logical, and who are suffering from recurring anxiety and fear. It uses indirect suggestions embedded in conversations, metaphors, and stories to help them overcome their fears.

NLP is a technology that doesn't rely on suggestion at all, so it can be effective for anybody. A simplified explanation is that NLP provides techniques to train the unconscious mind to use the same thought processes that are creating a symptom or fear, to extinguish it.

Because both hypnosis and NLP operate at the unconscious level, users describe feeling more in control and secure through these forms of therapy.

With Traditional Hypnosis, programs generally need to be specific to each phobia. An advantage of a well designed Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP program is that both are designed to be used on any phobia, or even several phobias. This can be a great benefit to some cancer phobia sufferers who also have other panic disorders, such as general hypochondria or germophobia.

Carcinophobia is a serious phobia, but it can be treated by well designed hypnosis techniques. NLP techniques have become a popular fear therapy because of their effectiveness at addressing the underlying cause of all phobias as well as the signs and symptoms. Sophisticated Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP techniques can help even the most anxious phobia sufferers vanquish their fears once and for all.
