Caravan Accessories To Enhance The Comfort And Beauty Of Used Caravans

By:

Used caravans for sale available in the market can give years and years of pleasure to any family, couple or even single adventurer. A caravan is a beautiful thing, perfectly designed for economical and ingenious living right out in the wilds of Nature (or, at least, of ones favourite all amenities holiday park). Basic fittings are good enough but add a few caravan accessories to the package and one can be forgiven for thinking that one is taking the lap of luxury with oneself, wherever he or she goes.

When on the hunt for a good used van, it never hurts to inquire what accessories might be included. As a general rule, the inclusion of decent accessories in used caravans is an indicator of the quality of both van and seller (incidentally, please dont ever buy from a private individual). A second hand caravans dealer willing to throw in one or two caravan accessories is obviously au fait with the ins and outs of caravan living and that can go a long way towards sealing a deal.

So: what kinds of things should a buyer look for? Well, caravans will come as standard with no extras, except possibly an awning. That, while one is on the subject, is actually a big plus for buying used caravans over new: things like awnings, which one would never get from a brand new purchase, are often thrown in for free and can make the difference between a decent holiday and a great one. Caravan accessories are made to expand the usefulness of ones van, which is why they come separately to new vans: second hand vans of good quality can often be bought with several extras, which, new, would have cost a fortune.

Second hand vans are usually bought as sold: in other words, whatever the dealer got when he or she bought the thing from its original owners is what the new owner receives second hand. The quality of used caravans can be to some extent marked by their accessories for this reason, too. A van with a lot of good quality, good nick accessories was probably owned by people who knew what they were doing and that means the general standard of its fixtures and fittings is liable to be quite high. Caravan accessories, as a barometer of overall van quality, can be extremely useful.

The most common, and the best, are as follows: an awning. The awning needs to be clean and whole. Its basically a tent that hitches to the outside of the van, creating a porch space or dining area. That means it needs to be still watertight and capable of standing up in winds. While buying a used caravan for sale, check it still has all its poles and stays.

A water butt. Used caravans, like all vans, need a water supply and the best will come with a water butt that can be used as a long term standing answer. Otherwise, its back and forth to the taps every two hours.

A butt trolley for taking said water butt to the taps.

An aerial. Caravan TV reception is notoriously awful. If ones used caravan accessories include an aerial, one is far more likely to be able to snuggle up at night and watch ones favourite shows without everything suddenly going fuzzy.

Used caravans are a delightful way to get a whole family back into the great British outdoors. Choose the right one and it could last for decades. Choose one with the right accessories and it could last a lifetime.
