Car Maintennance Options That Are Bad For Your Car

By:

No matter what brand your car is, or even it has a reputation to be a durable ride, if you do not take care of it properly, it will easily wear away before your very eyes.

Years ago, when I bought a car from my BC Ford dealer, he basically told me something so unbelievable that youd think your leg was being pulled: How do you like your car to live as long as you?

Sometimes though, we do things that stress out our car fast and bring about premature aging or wear and tear causing malfunction or breakage of some vehicle parts. That is why we need to be aware of the things that we need to avoid in order to have an extended vehicle life.

A BC Ford customer that I am with once agreed that maintaining your car the proper way will not only ensure that your car lives a healthy life, but it can even save us a mountain of financial problems, as well.

If there is such a thing as having an automotive fountain of youth, then here are the things that can spurn your cars chances of getting there:

Not Showing Up to the Mechanic

Whats the deal with us car owners not wanting to go to a mechanic? Its like were avoiding the dentist, only that you swap dental hygiene with cars.

Well, cleaning and changing the oil is good and all, but what a car also needs is a tune-up. Think of it this way: Its better that you visit the mechanic on your own time and with some minimal costs, rather than visiting the mechanic when your car is all wrecked that you have no choice but to admit your car in an intensive unit. For purposes of long-term savings, please dont choose the second option.

Paying attention to oil levels only

Yes, oil is the lifeblood of the vehicle, but its not the only liquid that you should be paying attention to. You may be changing or adding oil frequently, but that doesnt mean that you have the license to neglect other car fluids.

There are still brake fluids, transmission fluid, coolant, and washer fluid, among others, to take into consideration. A Ford dealer stressed that these fluids need as much replacement as the almighty oil does.

Hitting the road with out-of-season tires

Wanna know why people continue to wear large sneakers despite knowing full well that theyre going to a formal affair? Youd be surprised to know that, mostly, theyre just too lazy to dress themselves.

Cars are also the same too, except that failure means accident. Try using a regular tire when driving through a snow-laden road. Feels like youre driving a bobsled, isnt it? A Ford dealer once told me that tire specifications are always important when you find yourself driving on some unfamiliar and extreme conditions. Just like having to wear a thick coat during a snowstorm, different seasons mean a different set of tires as well.

Over-inflated or under-inflated tires

Dont go out the road on soft tires. Always check if your cars wheels are properly inflated. Doing so will minimize the risk of blow-ups and maximize ideal car control. Try to practice tire rotation so that one pair of tires will not wear out faster than the other.

Ever since buying my car from BC Ford dealers, Ive managed to look up on the dos and donts of car maintenance. To say that it has been a great help to me is a huge understatement.

So now, the folks at BC Ford dealership are in awe of how well I maintain my car. Youre not only maintaining your cars performance, youre also maintaining the quality of mobility that you and your family have enjoyed for years, and will continue to do so in later generations to come.

Ask your ford dealer. Know what practices are bad for your car.
