Car Insurance Quote No Personal Information

By:

For anyone who has ever tried to get some realistic car insurance quotes either on line or by phone, they probably found out the hard way that without handing over certain info, the quotes can be meaningless. Why? Because getting a car insurance quote no personal information is meaningless.

Insurance carriers base your premiums on things that include your credit history and your driving record. It's understandable that most consumers don't want to be handing over their drivers license number and social security number every time they try to get a quote, but without this information, the quote will only be based on information that has little bearing on the ultimate cost of the policy.

Each time you hand over this personal information, the company will pull your credit report. And each time this is done, it appears as a hard request on your credit report. Too many of these requests will adversely affect your FICO score.

Before ruining your credit because you're asking for too many quotes, do a little research and decide on two or three companies you want to get real quotes from. Companies that are reliable, perhaps have been recommended by family and friends, and ones that have a good customer service reputation (check online ' unhappy customers are eager to post comments when they received below standard service) are your best bets.

Make certain you are getting quotes based on the same information. In other words, if an agent asks if you want the 'minimum' or the 'maximum' deductible or coverage, ask what that might be. It's not the same for all companies. Getting the minimum coverage with one company might be totally different with another. Talk in terms of definite figures and limits, not in terms of min and max amounts.

Also know what options you are being quoted on. For instance one agent might ask you if you'd be interested in road side service. If you are, make sure the other companies either add that to the quote, or you take the overall price and premiums into consideration when you analyze your final numbers; you don't want to turn down a policy because it was 'too expensive' when in fact the policy included options that were not included with the others.

No matter what you do, just remember that it makes little sense to get quotes without providing the personal information necessary in order to give you a quote that means something.
