The Canon XA10 crosses the gap between pro and consumer models with it's compact size and outstanding pro level features.
Don't be fooled by it's small size. This camera is packing all the professional quality features you would expect on a much more costlyexpensive camcorder.

The XA10 uses a 1/3" native sensor with full 1920 x 1080p. The same sensor used on Canon's professional models.

The 1/3" sensor separates the XA10 from other camcorders enabling very nice image quality, superb low light capability and a wide dynamic range.

As in all of Canon's high end pro models the Canon XA10 comes with full manual controls of focus, aperture, gain, color temperature and shutter speed.

Editing is accomplished with ease due to the widely accepted AVCHD codec.

The XA10 records in a variety of quality levels for the beginner as well as the pro shooter.

Built in 64 gigs of memory with the option to expand that to 192 gigs with the addition of two 64 gig sd cards in the twin sd card slots.
Relay recording means that as the memory becomes full on one card the camcorder will automatically begin recording on the next available card so you never loose the shot.

You can also record onto both sd cards at the same time for automatic backup.

The lens that comes with the camcorder is a 10x wide angle HD video lens. With a zoom range of 30mm to 300mm equivalent 35mm. An 8 bladed iris allows for smooth backgrounds and bokeh. Image stabilization has four settings. Standard, Dynamic, Powered and Off.

There are 9 different filter options to create the look you want.

Touch your subject on the touch screen and you activate Canon's touch and track system that prioritizes the subjects focus and exposure.

Built in XLR inputs on the handle let you add what ever microphone you want. The handle is detachable for travel or storage.

There is an infra red mode that lets you get those spooky night time shots.

The Canon XA10 is as good as it gets for the money. It has state of the art technology and is full of pro level features. Canon has set the bar very high with the XA10. If you are looking for a whole lot of bang for your buck then this may be the camera you have been waiting for.
