Cancun Real Estate Area Is Endorsed As A Leading Tourist Destination In The World Travel Awards 2009

Cancun Real Estate, as many of Mexico's major real estate destinations, is closely tied to this area's tourism industry. In a glamorous atmosphere, with the presence of more than 350 guests, including directors of tourism in the region, government officials and renowned artists, the awards ceremony for the World Travel Awards 2009 (WTA) was held in mid-September, which awarded leaders of the travel and tourism industry in North America, Mexico and Central America.

The awards are considered the "Oscars" of the tourism industry. The Cancun Real Estate area won several awards, including the leading destination in Mexico and Central America, the best convention center, for the Cancun Center, and the best tourist office, for its Conventions and Visitors Office.

The Hacienda Tres Rios Resorts, Spa & Nature Park, which hosted the official ceremony, won two awards in the categories of leader in all inclusive hotels, and as best eco hotel. The awards were received by Orlando and Romarico Arroyo and President and Vice President of
Board of Directors of Tres Rios Group.

The tourist destinations near the Cancun Real Estate area also faired well. For example, the Hotel Desire Riviera Maya was recognized as the best spa boutique, Rio Secreto, as the leader in eco-tours, Cozumel's Punta Langosta as the best cruise ship dock, Wildflower of Puerto Morelos as the best adventure park and Amigos de Sian Ka'an as the best green association.

Chichen Itza, the world-famous Mayan pyramids, a relatively short drive from the Cancun Real Estate area was awarded recognition as the leading destination for heritage and culture; Mexicana Airlines was awarded as the leading airline in Mexico and Central America, while the Tourism Board of Mexico, was recognized for his work in successfully promoting Cancun and other Mexican destinations after the swine flu travel advisory early this summer.

Executive Vice President of World Travel Awards, Manon Han thanked the hospitality and excellent organization of this event which will help to consolidate Mexico's leadership in tourism as a safe place to visit. Han took the opportunity to acknowledge the work and dedication of Erika Garcia, President of Yucatan Holidays, to carry out the details of this ceremony in Mexico.

According to the organizing committee of the World Travel Awards, more than 500 travel companies and organizations were nominated by 183 thousand travel agents, tour operators and tourism companies from 160 countries around the world who cast their votes to elect the "best of the best" of the tourism industry in this part of the world.

Romarico Arroyo, on behalf of Three Rivers Group, gave thanks for the distinction of having been chosen to host the World Travel Awards and stressed the importance of promoting green tourism - a niche market that is increasingly growing, promoting the respect of nature and allowing the creation of greater environmental awareness among tourists.

For his part, Felix Gonzalez, Governor of the State of Quintana Roo, recognized the accomplishment of the Tres Rios Group and congratulated for demonstrating the ability of investors from Quintana Roo to build such an emblematic project in the midst of adverse economic circumstances.

Similarly, he stressed that Cancun Real Estate area continues to consolidate itself as a leading destination in the Caribbean and Mexico, and reported that the ceremony of the World Travel Awards will show the world that Cancun and Quintana Roo have overcome challenges and adversity and are now better than ever.

The winners of each category will participate in the WTA Grand Finale to be held in London on November 8 before World Travel Market Tourism Fair, also held in London.
