Can You Truly Materialize Your Most Delicious Dream?

By:

Can your dreams really materialize here?

Let's see... Have you recently dreamed of escaping somewhere lovely? Perhaps to a charming little city with fun, cultured, colorful, and interesting people?

Should this city be by the sea? Maybe it is surrounded by green and wooded bodies of land amongst the clear salty waters. Perhaps a place such as this is best for your dreams? Perhaps it is the Puget Sound, in Washington State?

And in these inviting waters, do you easily see yourself sailing silently, amongst islands and peninsulas? Kayaking, snorkeling, or diving? It could be...

Must this city be surrounded and close related to mighty, perfumed woods of tall pine trees and mountains? Maybe even with a beautiful peak to climb or simply admire, like Mount Rainier, or Mount Baker, sparkling with snow in the distance through a clear and crisp Spring morning?

Ah, its all beginning to sound familiar... And while we are at it, what if this little city were full of art galleries, special boutiques, and antique stores with true Victorian tales to tell in their treasures!

What makes you tick?

Would you like to walk into numerous stores and in each find something fun or interesting to look at, or to take home? Many a time things you will find that things are being sold for an unexpected, very reasonable price. It is these gifts that you will enjoy, particularly because you know that the Victorian beauty of your treasure will stay in your family for more than one generation.

And after your walks and explorations, would you crave the flavors of salmon, grilled to to perfection, with a delicious beet salad and the luscious delight of delicate wine, and local fresh goat and/or cow's cheeses?

If your palate is demanding, you would enjoy to discover, in this lovely city of Port Townsend, also called "The City Of Dreams", much fun to sit at the Village Bakery with a most delicious "Tomato Bisque"; or an irresistible artichoke pate on warm slices of home bread, made for the occasion at the Silver Water Cafe. Or you could walk into The Water Street Brewery Victorian pub; where you can sit at their bar, all magnificently carved in fine woods, honoring their Victorian nature. It is there that you can order their famous locally brewed beer, accompanied by "fish n' chips" or a fantastic Portobello mushroom vegetarian "burger", some classical Pub Fries, or a glorious chili.

Of course your pick could also favor a delicious "crème de champignon" while you sit pretty, all wrapped in soft breezes, under the bright sun at Jordini's to enjoy your meal directly over the waters that cradle seagulls and star fish, beneath their crystalline surface. If you are looking for the touch of New York cuisine, a spectacular and delicious Clam Chowder, or a charming terrace overlooking the lovely translucent waters of the Puget Sound, you want to choose the renowned "Fins", on Water Street.

Also on the water, you could enjoy the rich variety of the North-Western cuisine on another true Victorian setting, at The Belmont Hotel, where attention to each detail is incomparable.

If it is sushi, a splendid Miso soup, or all the finest delights of the Japanese taste, you'd probably go to Ichikawa. Or perhaps you want Thai, and then it is the elegant Kuh-Larb; or the charmingly casual and delicious Banana Leaf. If you are looking for Mexican food, you would debate amongst the very tasty El Sarape, or the water front Restaurant La Isla. If for Chinese food, you cam explore Shanghai, or Joy Luck, right down town on Water Street. Or, for "Fusion Cuisine", you have The Public House and The Fountain Café. It is in these places that you will always find more than one exclusive and delicious option.

If you were to want a 50's diner, you can visit Nifty-Fifties, right on the water, or the best local ice creams; at the famous Elevated Ice Cream. Incomparable "home made" ice creams...maybe of coconut, ginger, Marion berry, or mango? You name it!

You can find excellent local cheeses, breads and wine at singer and composer Joe Euro's in Down Town.

Not only does Pizza at the Up Stage fairly compare to the finest in Northern Italy; their "rhythm and blues" salad -and everything else in the menu is to die for, especially when you are listening to some quality Jazz performers from all over. Or perhaps you prefer the world-class open mic on Mondays; when you can add your own talents to the large and varied talents in town.

For Live jazz and rock music, chips and hamburgers, drinks and other fun things for the palate at night; Sirens, on the waters of Water Street is your place.

For "tapas" that are a pleasure to the eye and palate; and another splendid vast selection of wines, you'd look for the Galatea Restaurant.

Now, if your palate is very demanding and vegan, you'll also love the gourmet raw foods at the Food-Coop, to name one place.

To materialize your dreams of beauty, fun and excellent food, Port Townsend awaits for you! Not in vain, is it also called "The City of Dreams".
