Can You Ship Large Vehicles Or Machinery With A Courier Company?

By:

Courier companies exist for virtually anything. If it can be moved, then it can be shipped. Some companies specialize in quickly moving small letters and packages across a city. These couriers often use bicycles as their delivery vehicle. A medical courier will often use an ambulance or specially designed van to move medicines or organs ready for transplant. Some cargo that needs to be shipped is much larger. Automobiles and large pieces of machinery also need to be shipped. Courier companies have designed vehicles that are big enough and strong enough to move vehicles and heavy equipment.

Vehicle movers are seen often on the nation's highways. Large trailers carrying six or more cars stacked two high are a common sight for drivers. Moving these vehicles from a port or terminal to the dealership is done this way in order to not put any miles on the car. The more miles a vehicle has on its odometer, the less it will be worth. Moving multiple vehicles at a time is also more labor and fuel efficient. You do not need a driver for each vehicle, and you only need fuel for the delivery truck. Although it is a gas guzzler, it still uses less fuel than driving each vehicle to the dealership.

Large machinery and equipment is not as common a sight, but this happens every day. Large construction projects need large machines. These machines are often motorized and drivable, but they are not fit to be operated on the road with regular vehicular traffic. Therefore, this equipment is usually moved to the work site on a flatbed trailer specifically designed for this purpose. You might also see large concrete pipes for storm water drainage projects on these types of trailers.

Some courier companies try to offer all types of services to all types of customers. Others seek to specialize in a certain niche. Medical courier companies are very efficient at transporting lifesaving medicines and supplies. Letter carriers are likewise adept at their jobs. Parcel services are great at picking up and delivering packages. But none of these would be equipped to move a fleet of vehicles or a large crane. If you need to move large vehicles or equipment, it is best to contact a courier company that specializes in this service. They will be most likely to have the proper equipment and delivery vehicles necessary to get the job done.
