Can Plastic Surgery Help You Find Work?

By:

The baby boomer generation is aging and now often facing job insecurity or the threat of layoffs in this ever more competitive recession job market. Lots of baby boomers have been active all their lives and, even though they are older, are unwilling to become more sedentary, and they are attracted to any way they can find that might help them stay as young looking and feeling as they can.

Since plastic surgery has become commonplace and very much more accepted in the last decade, it is only natural then that many of them would think of having work done. Some boomers are also affected by a lifetime of sun exposure and may look much older than they actually are. Looking tired all the time from sagging jaw lines and eyelids is a definite handicap in this youth oriented workplace and these people are searching for any advantage they can find.

So while plastic surgery may be an option they have considered, the final decision comes after seeing the positive effects on others who have already had the work done. The most dramatic effect on many of those who have had plastic surgery is not the obvious improvement to how they look, but the impact on their personality. Researchers have shown for years that we all have an internal image of how we think we look and when improvements are made to this image, even if the outward change is not that much, there can be huge positive changes in the personality.

Many people fall far short of their true potential by having some small, sometimes barely noticeable defect that has affected their self image in a negative way. So while having plastic surgery may seem vain to some, there is the very real possibility that a successful procedure may affect that person's self image in a way that they suddenly are able to achieve their true potential. After successful surgeries, people are often more confident and liable to take action on opportunities they would not have reacted to in the past.

For these people there are not just improvements at work, but often their social lives undergo a wonderful transformation after surgery. Plastic surgery is an option that you should strongly consider if you feel you are not living up to your potential at work. It did not take long for me to locate several plastic surgery clinics with qualified surgeons and it will probably be the same in your location, too. I also found that there were some liposuction specialists, so remember to look for surgeons that specialize in your procedure.
