Can I Pay A Medical Courier With A Credit Card?

By:

When choosing a medical courier, one of the most common questions that a person will ask is whether said courier will accept credit cards. All medical couriers accept purchase orders, but as customer demand increases, more and more are offering the ability accept credit cards. It is so easy for a business, large or small, to accept credit cards, that in the next few years, we anticipate that all medical couriers will start accepting them. The industry as a whole, however, takes an agnostic point of view, and neither encourages nor discourages individual couriers when it comes to accepting cards.

The most common users of medical courier services are doctor's offices, medical research institutes, and hospitals. In the past, these types of businesses didn't even use credit cards. Everything was paid for via either a purchase order or a bank transfer. However, in the 21st century, every business has a corporate credit card; even the smallest rural family practice office. Not all courier services have caught up with the times however. But this doesn't mean that they shouldn't be a candidate for your business, or that they are not reputable. On the contrary, the opposite is often true, as the largest and most well established medical couriers have enough business as is, and have never had the need to accept credit cards to do a brisk trade. They are reliable and established to the point that they have customers lining up to use their services.

Be aware, however, when you ask a medical courier whether they accept credit cards and get an answer in the affirmative, that they still might not take your credit card. Most businesses, couriers included, have certain credit cards that they are able to accept. If you are using Visa or MasterCard, odds are that the card will be accepted. However, if your corporate card is, for some reason, an American Express or even Diner's Club, you will want to be certain that it will be accepted before you need to make and pay for that rush delivery. In addition, while you've got their customer service representative on the phone and are asking questions, it isn't a bad idea to ask whether there are additional fees for utilizing a credit card. It is uncommon, but situations do arise when certain courier companies implement a surcharge for credit card use, or for the use of certain credit cards.
