Can Drinking Water Help You Lose Weight?

By:

What if I tell you that drinking water will help you lose weight? Would you believe me? There are a lot of different opinions around whether you can lose weight by drinking water or not. I will, here, dig around and try to clear up some of the mystery.

Water is so important to living organism, duh. We couldn't survive without it, duh again. But, our ability to feel thirsty seems to have been forgotten.

Now, what do I mean by this?

Do you sometimes get that hunger feeling and you go to the fridge for something to eat. And then you eat and the feeling goes away. How often does this happen and you choose food instead of water (drink)?

If you are trying to lose weight, drinking water and getting your natural thirst back, may be a great help. To test whether I really am hungry, when I get the hungry feeling, I drink a glass of water and if I am still hungry after half an hour, then I think I must have been hungry. If not, well, I was thirsty and that has been sorted. It is surprising how often this happens. And it is quite difficult to tell the difference because we are out of practice in judging the difference between feeling hunger and feeling thirst because it is so easy to get food. This means you will lose a bit of weight this way simply becaus you will be drinking water instead of eating thereby comsuming less calories.

Another way of winning back you natural thirt, which also will help you lose weight by drinking water, is by setting a goal of drinking about tow or three litres of water a day for a month. This will help your body get the balance of drinking again and after the month you will be in the habit of drinking and will probably settle on drinking about two litres a day. And when you are thirsty, you will feel thirsty and not hungry. Consuming two litres of water will fill some of the space that normally would be used for food, so less calorie consuption!

Drinking a lot of water can also improve your general state of health. A number of toxins will be more readily washed out the body and your skin will look healthier. Drinking water can help with water retention and the tone of you muscles can improve as toxins will be removed from under the skin with the water.

I am sure that drinking more water helps with weight los for the reasons stated above. Intake of less calories for one and teaching your body the difference between hunger and thirst for two.
