Can Blog Networks Boost Your Rankings In The Search Engines?

By:

There are lots of web site owners and internet marketers that have never heard of blog networks or are unsure as to their purpose. Hopefully in this article we can clarify what they are, why they are used and how you go about joining them!

Blog networks are basically tools for improving search engine rankings as they provide opportunities for webmasters to generate lots of inbound links to their own web pages. When you join a blog network you get access to hundreds or thousands of member blogs, which in most cases you can post your own content to. This means that by including links in your content back to your own web pages, you can quickly build hundreds of backlinks that will boost your search engine rankings.

Do they work?

Well I have to say I belong to a couple of blog networks and they consistently help me to repeatedly achieve high search engine rankings for the web pages and blogs that I build. So yes, I would say they most definitely work. They take so much work out of the link building process, they literally save you hours and hours of valuable time.

You simply add your content into their interface once, and it is then distributed around their relevant blogs on autopilot over a period of time. The best services do not simply distribute it to hundreds of blogs over-night, they gradually distribute it over several weeks or months to give a natural linking pattern.

Whilst many of the blogs in the networks tend to be low quality, the volume of links you get certainly seem to boost search engine rankings. Also because it is your own content being distributed you can control the anchor text being used in the posts to make it very keyword focused. Keyword focused, in content anchor text backlinks certainly help search engine rankings a lot.

In most networks you can add your own blogs so that they are constantly updated with new content for the search engines to feed on from other blog members. In most cases you can choose whether or not you approve content before it is added or whether to allow it to be added on autopilot.

Is there a risk of your sites being banned because of the linking patterns that may appear in these networks? Well I guess there is. But I've been using a couple of services for several years now with absolutely no problems. And I look at it like this?

If blog networks are so frowned upon by the search engines, why haven't they delisted the homepages of the services that are used to promote them? Surely as a search engine, if you didn't want blog networks to be used, you'd find the homepages promoting them and take them out of your listings? But they haven't, both the services I use rank well in their own right.

So if you want top search engine rankings for your sites, definitely consider blog networks to make you life easier!
