Your body can be too acidic, too alkaline, or be properly balanced. It largely depends on what foods you eat and somewhat on your levels of exercise and stress. In our society, virtually everyone is too acidic. Our modern lifestyle is to blame, between the food we eat and the stress we endure. And it's been shown that being too acidic can make you more anxious. I won't go so far to say that balancing your body's pH level is an anxiety cure, but your body will have much better tolerance to stress. So being at the proper pH can definitely bring you natural anxiety relief.

Here is what you need to know about eating a more alkaline diet as a natural anxiety treatment.

The terms acid and alkaline refer to the effect a certain food will have on your body's internal systems, such as blood and urine. I find it fascinating that you can't guess by a food's taste how it will react in your body. For example, I'm sure you would guess that eating a lemon would make you more acidic yet lemons actually make you are alkaline! It is how the lemon acts inside your body, not how it tastes inside your mouth. This seems very counter intuitive.

So how can you know which foods are alkalizing and which are acidifying? Luckily for us, they fall into easy to remember patterns.

Meat and poultry, grains, dairy products, salt‚ sugar‚ alcohol, and refined or processed food all make you more acidic. You might be wondering what else is left!

The alkalizing foods are fruits and vegetables. That's simple. But not easy! Because for optimum balance 80% of the food you eat should be alkaline. Yikes.

Does that sound like how you eat? Probably not. Not too many of us can say we eat 80% fruits and vegetables and 20% everything else. But that is what you should do for optimal health and anxiety disorder help.

One way I cheat to have a more alkaline diet is to have a green drink every day. I use a powdered green drink mix. Green drinks are very alkalizing. I mix one scoop with juice or a make protein smoothie. One scoop of this is equivalent to eating two pounds of fresh vegetables. That can really help meet your goal of eating enough fruits and vegetables to balance your body.

I have heard it said that if your body is at the proper pH, meaning slightly alkaline, you would never get sick. It seems that viruses and bacteria can't survive in the slightly alkaline environment but they thrive in an acidic environment. So theoretically you would never get sick. Imagine having no more colds, never getting the flu, along with some anxiety attack relief.

It can be very difficult to stay calm and centered if your body is not operating at its best. If you are malnourished, deficient in vitamins or minerals, or is overly acidic you will not be able to handle stress very well. It is critical to look after your body's needs. This will increase your ability to eliminate anxiety attacks and possibly even cure anxiety .

Eventually, I believe an alkaline diet will become more mainstream as an anxiety cure. Until then, it only makes sense to follow a healthy diet. You might find it to be one of the anxiety solutions you've been looking for.
