Call It Luck But It's A Great Deal Nonetheless

There are many things that we are grateful for but none seems more gratifying than finding a good deal when you are not necessarily looking for it. Call it good luck, great fortune, and great timing; these are incidents which we somehow look up to the sky and say "Thank You." Here are some of those events that may have been experienced by you in some form or the other:

- Finding cheap young driver's car insurance for your 17 year old son. Insurance premiums for first time car drivers can be hefty. Finding one insurance company that gives you 20% off the listed rate is great and then finding another insurance company giving you 30% off is even better. Though there are many conditions that dictate the insurance rates such as the state where you live, the type of car you drive, you may be able to find good insurance rates online and use that as a base for finding a better rate.

- Being upgraded to business or first class in a crowded flight. The plane is full and the airline has overbooked. Some will offer free tickets if they take the next flight. Others will offer upgrades to the next flight available. The best of both worlds is taking the offer to be rebooked with a free ticket voucher and upon taking that flight, being upgraded to first class. That is a great deal - Winning in a contest. Some people are lucky in the sense that they win in door prizes or raffles. Others have the talent for winning in other contests or other fun games. Winning a cash prize by being the lucky customer to step into the building, ride a plane, or order something also releases the same endorphins of joy and elation as do other types of win. The added joy is perhaps that it wasn't expected by you.

- Finding the item you are looking for in a sale. This is perhaps what most women feel when they go to sales, hoping that they can find what they are looking for be it a specific brand, specific style or size. Being able to find it and purchase it before others do is a victory and feels like a sense of accomplishment.

- Picking up something at a garage sale and then having it valued at ten times the amount that you paid for. Some man's garbage is another man's gold. That is the saying and there are items that you can find in a garage sale that may have higher values. A lot of this may be furniture that may have been done by craftsmen and artisans. Still, finding a rare comic book and purchasing an art piece that is undervalued are also lucky things that do happen.
