Calgary is the largest city in the province of Alberta, Canada. It is located in the south of the province, in an area of foothills and high plains. But aside from its notable size and scenic surroundings, Calrgary offers a variety of activities that suits any kind of traveler regardless of their idea of fun and having a good time.

The Carlgary Zoo houses over 1,000 animals for all your nature-loving pleasure. From exotic to local wildlife, the Calgary Zoo doesn't fall short in giving its visitors plenty of reasons to go "Ooh," and, "Ahh." They even have some "talented ones" such as Kamala the painting elephant. Watching her pick up a paintbrush with her trunk and start splashing colors onto a canvas is sure to bring a smile, mixed with amazement, on anyone's face. The complex also has a botanical garden, where you can appreciate another kind of nature's wonders. And, lastly, there is the prehistoric park for all the Dino lovers out there.

The city is also home to the largest museum in Western Canada, the Glenbow Museum. Found in the heart of Calgary, this place features exhibits on just about anything you can think of, from traditions of piercing and tattooing of certain tribes to showcasing the heritage of different cultures ranging from Africa all the way to Canada. The museum is quite big, so it's a good idea to dedicate at least half-a-day to fully explore it, though it certainly is a small price to pay when it comes to learning and enjoying.

Are you itching to go outdoors? Then the Calrgary Olympic Park should be able to cater to your needs. As many of us know, Calrgary was once the site for the 1988 Winter Olympics. The hill where the park is situated on used to be open exclusively for skiing during the winter months. Now, it is open all year round, and offers a mountain biking trail, luge rides, bungee trampolines, outdoor wall climbing, and mini golf. The Olympic Park is surely one of the best destinations in Calgary, so hurry up and start packing.

The Heritage Park Historical Village should be one of your stops when in Calgary. There you can revisit the past. With an area covering 66 acres, you can spend a quiet and relaxing day with your family either among its seemingly endless fields or by the beautiful Glenmore Lake. A shuttle bus will take you around the area if you start growing weary of walking around, after all, 66 acres is a lot of ground to cover.

Get a fantastic view of the city while atop the Calgary Tower. The Olympic Flame used to burn brightly at the peak of this magnificent structure. Now, it has become one of Calgary's main attractions, as thousands of tourists flock to, waiting for a chance to see the city skyline from 525 feet up. However, just be sure not to take anyone who's afraid of heights, seeing that part of the floor at the top is constructed with glass, giving anyone the feeling that they are flying over the cityscape.

It's a given that Canadians love hockey. So why not join in their beloved past time by heading over to Pengrowth Saddledome and watch the Calgary Flames play? Enjoy watching one of the fastest sports in the world as the best players from the National Hockey League duke it out on the ice.
