Cadillac Used Cars- The Srx Crossover Utility Vehicle

By:

Cadillac used cars like the SRX is General Motors top luxury CUV. This crossover utility vehicle is basically a re-invented version of the larger sport utility vehicles you see on the road today. Back in 2004 GMC decided it was time that it get into the CUV segment of the auto industry. The SRX competes against the likes of the Lexus RX 330/350, Acura MDX, BMW X5 and the Mercedes-Benz ML-Class. The Cadillac brand is one of North Americas best luxury vehicles, so my research will be on the Cadillac SRX as a used vehicle to own.

Cadillac SRX used cars:

I looked at models from 2007 and came to the conclusion that Cadillac spared no expense when it came to interior design for the SRX. General Motors decided to hand craft the interior, so all major instrument systems have what they call a cut and sew process, this is something you would see in a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. The 2007 models are much roomier than older SRXs and you notice this when you sit in one. The speedometer and engine gauges are easy to read and the center console is easy to use. The SRX comes standard with power steering, power windows, ABS brakes, am/fm radio, heating/air and a CD player just to name a few.

When looking for fuel statistics for the SRX, I found several stats from various years. The 2004 V6 engine had a fuel rating of 14.4-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 9.3-litre, per 100km, for highway driving. The V8 engine had a fuel rating 15.9-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 10.7-litre, per 100km for highway driving. In 2009 the V6 engine had a fuel rating of 14.1-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 8.8-litre, per 100km, for highway driving. The V8 engine had a fuel rating of 16-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 10-litre, per 100km, for highway driving.

There are two different engine sizes for the Cadillac SRX. The base package has V6, 3.6-litre engine and this produces 260 horsepower. Their best package has a V8, 4.6-litre engine and this has 320 horsepower under the hood. The SRX is strictly an automatic transmission.

Lets look at the pros and cons of the Cadillac SRX as a used vehicle.
1-A leading online consumer watch dog gives the SRX a bad rating for a used car.
2-There are problems with water leaking into where the jack is stored.
3-The rear window washer has been known not to work at times.
4-The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave it a four star rating for a frontal crash test done to the driver and passenger area of the vehicle.

I hope this helps if youre looking at Cadillac used cars like the SRX.
