Cadillac Used Cars- The Cts As A Used Vehicle

By:

Cadillac in 2002 decided they had to get into making an entry level luxury sedan because of the popularity consumers have for this particular part of the auto industry. To compete against other top brands from Germany and Japan, General Motors used its most advanced technologies, with extensive testing on the famed Nurburgring test track in Germany. When this vehicle was introduced in 2002 to the North American public, its been a major success ever since. Cadillac used cars like the CTS are a very popular car to buy used, so my research will be on how good the CTS holds up as a used vehicle.

I looked at models from 2003 to 2007 and found the CTS to have both an American/European design incorporated into both its exterior and interior. This vehicle does stand up to any other German or Japanese entry level luxury sedan for design. Some of the standard options that come with the Cadillac CTS are a premium audio system, leather seats, GPS navigation system and a hard drive that can store digital music. Also it probably has the most cabin room of all other vehicles it competes against.

I found different fuel statistics for the various engine sizes the CTS has to offer. The 3.2-litre engine has a fuel rating of 12.9-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 8.4-litres, per 100km for highway driving. The 3.6-litre engine has a fuel rating of 13.4-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 7.8-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. Their best model the CTS-V has a fuel rating of 15.3-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 9.2-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. Its been said that these numbers might be hard to maintain because of the power and the speed you can go with the CTS.

There are different statistics for the various engines the CTS has to offer. The V6, 3.2-litre engine has 220 horsepower, with 218 pounds, per feet of torque. The V6, 3.6-litre engine makes 255 horsepower and has 252 pounds, per feet of torque. The CTS-V has a V8, 6.0-litre engine, which makes 400 horsepower and this produces 395 pounds, per feet of torque.

Lets look at some of the pros and cons of the Cadillac CTS as a used vehicle:

1-CTS models from 2003 to 2007 get a bad rating from a leading online consumer watch dog for a used car to buy.
2-There is a problem with a fragile differential that can prone to fail.
3-The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave it a four star rating for driver and passenger protection when a crash test was done to it.

I hope this helps when looking at Cadillac use cars like the CTS.
