Buying Quality Elliptical Machines Online

By:

I think that an elliptical is one of the greatest inventions. First off it's a fabulous way to exercise and stay fit and healthy. But more importantly it's easy to use and yet the results are really nice. I bought an elliptical machine about a year ago and I use it once a day and I love it. It really gets every part of your body moving and is a terrific way to get your heart pumping and your blood flowing. Also, unlike treadmills you can use an elliptical machine without excessive pressure to the joints, hence decreasing the risk of impact injuries. A treadmill is one of the worst machines to use because it can cause damage to your knees and other joints! Notice when you are on a treadmill running that you are running on a hard surface "pounding" down on it which practically sends shock waves to your joints.

The elliptical does not do this. One reason is because your feet always stay ON the "pedals". There are two main types of an elliptical machine. The first one is completely about the legs, thighs, calves, etc. The handles do not move. The other type of machine has movable handles - so as you are walking or running you are also able to move your arms which also causes movement in your pecs and abs! So with the ones where the handles move you pretty much can get a full-body workout! A few of the most popular models are below.

Magnetic 1772 Elliptical Cross Trainer - The Stamina Magnetic 1772 Elliptical Cross Trainer provides low-impact workout that tones and firms your thighs, calves, buttocks, quadriceps, and hamstrings while you get an effective cardiovascular workout. With it's smooth & quiet magnetic resistance, you can workout on the 1772 Elliptical Machine while watching TV or while listening to music. With a fairly small footprint (20" W x 55" L), this machine is perfect for home use. The 1772 Cross Trainer Elliptical has dual action handlebars that add an upper body workout that tones your arms, shoulders, chest, and back. The console displays your speed, workout time, distance, heart rate and calories burned. Resistance may be increased or decreased at any time by simply turning the tension knob. You may choose from eight levels of workout intensity.

Stamina InStride Elliptical Trainer - The Stamina InMotion E1000 Elliptical trainer is an affordable way to get a low-impact workout at home on one of the most popular types of gym equipment. It is lightweight and compact enough to use virtually anywhere, and stores easily in a closet or under a desk. Compared to jogging, an elliptical trainer workout burns a similar amount of calories, but does not have the risk of injury to the ankles, knees, back, or hips. Because your feet never leave the pedals the Stamina InMotion E1000 Elliptical provides a low-impact workout that is easy on your joints. In my opinion, this is one that will most definitely work your core!

Dual Action Elite Programmable Elliptical/Stepper - The Dual Action Elite Programmable Elliptical Stepper (also know as the Elite EMR Elliptical/Stepper) gives you the option of switching between Elliptical and Stepper Modes. By varying the type of workout, you prevent getting board with a certain exercise and can target different workout goals. The Elite Elliptical/Stepper easily switches modes by moving the two adjustment knobs. The machine is programmed with twelve workout programs and you can add four of your own custom programs. The multi-function console tracks and displays RPM, MPH, speed, distance, calories burned, metabolism rate, and more. Intensity level is easily controlled by the console as well.

These are unlike the old machines that we used to use. These are high quality premiums. As always technology falls into machines such as this. Everything is completely digital and it can be programmed by hand. No more guess work! On a lot of these elliptical machines you might also find other options such as iPod or MP3 player jacks so you can plug in your music while you go! This is really such an easy exercise and yet it can tone your body up so well. This is the kind of machine you would want in your home if you are looking for a great way to exercise without killing yourself.
