Buying A New Home In Wales

By:

Have you ever thought about buying a new home in Wales (or Cymru in Welsh)? It's a whole other country to explore and consider.

Wales has a population of around three million and is generally mountainous landscape, particularly on the central and northern parts of the country, with the National Park Brecon Beacons, a range of mountains, to the south. The range of new developments in Wales are diverse and there is a property to suit every kind of buyer. Regions to consider buying include Gwynedd, Caerphilly, Pembrokeshire and Glamorgan, so depending on what region you wish to settle in, you can choose from a good selection of new homes.

Wales is also renowned for its breathtaking scenery, so access to popular visitor spots from where you choose to settle, such as Snowdonia, the Pembrokeshire coastline and Cardigan Bay, and Brecon Beacons that lie to the north, south and west of Wales is easy.

Unfortunately, Wales doesn't keep up in terms of industrial and commercial output with the rest of the UK. This is mostly attributed to its low population, so therefore large companies, especially in the financial sector haven't opened branches in Wales. However it remains a popular tourist attraction and has a thriving tourism industry. Because of its general terrain and lack of soil fertility, arable farming is not big in this country. However, agriculture is more focussed on livestock farming.

You will also need to consider transport links in and around Wales when you view new developments. Wales has the M4 as its main motorway in the south. There are numerous good rail network routes, mostly from Cardiff running to London, the north and the south. Cardiff International Airport connects to Europe and the USA. If you are a regular air traveller, then you could consider buying near to Cardiff for easy access to the airport.

With a new home in Wales, you will be able to buy a decent apartment or flat and your money will go further than in other parts of the UK. New developments in Wales are located in a variety of areas. You can choose from living away from it all in a rural areas, or there are plenty of new houses in areas that are more populated, such as Newport. The city of Newport is around twelve miles from Cardiff.
