Buying A Car In Today's Market

By:

Car salesmen use many common phrases and key words in dealing with car buyers.
They seem to have a vocabulary only the so called “insiders” understand. They
are trained to use these certain key words to entice you, the car buyer, into
purchasing a vehicle on their lot.
Car salesmen, like any other sales professionals, are trained to not take the
word “no” for an answer. The more a potential car buyer says “no” intrigues
the salesman to play hard in the “game” of car buying. The salesman needs to
close the deal in any way possible, oftentimes to the disadvantage of the car
buyer.
Marketers use carefully crafted strategies to make a buyer believe they are
getting a deal, only to find out later they actually paid more for the item then
they should have. Cars are not immune to this practice. Oftentimes a marketer
will offer a 50% off deal on a piece of merchandise, when in actuality the price
of the item has been increased. If a company marks up the price 52% and sells the
vehicle for 50% off of that price, the purchaser is paying 2% more for the item
than they should.
Cash back deals or trade in’s work in the same way. Fees and interest rates with
this kind of incentive are often higher, which in turn will still be in the
dealership’s favor.
It is best to bring a copy of your current credit score to the dealership when
shopping for a new car if you are planning on taking out a car loan. This can
lower your interest rate immensely, and give you the advantage you need when
dealing with the car salesman. Being fully prepared will help you get the best
deal possible.
Owning the car you have been dreaming about can certainly be a reality if you
properly prepare for it, even when the professional salesmen’s tactics rule.
