Buy Emergency Food For Family Survival

By:

Saving part of each paycheck is wise and thoughtful, but rather than letting the money sit in an account and depreciate, you ought to spend at least some of it to buy emergency food supplies. Inflation will steal the value of your savings. It won’t have the same impact on your emergency food hoard. Sure, buying gold and silver – as well as lead, in the form of ammo – are wise investments. But few of them will offer the practical profits you’ll make if you buy emergency food.

Legendary investor Jim Rogers has pulled almost all of his assets from the U.S. dollar. He’s been investing in gold, silver, oil stocks, and – intriguingly – agricultural commodities such as grain and sugar. Rogers has made a fortune by anticipating demand – and he insists that scarcity-driven food price increases are in our immediate future. Those of us who aren’t commodity traders like Jim Rogers would be wise to buy emergency food as an investment in household survival.

A similar warning comes from economic analyst Gerald Celente, founder of the Trends Research Institute and one of the most uncannily accurate trends forecasters in recent memory. Celente sees food riots in our country’s immediate future – no later than 2012, and perhaps even earlier. He laments that the U.S.A., once the world’s freest and most prosperous society, is rapidly becoming the world’s first “undeveloped country.”

Celente – who started to buy emergency food decades ago -- had a personal emergency plan that he used in the immediate aftermath of the 9-11 attacks. He warns that by Christmas 2012, food will be sufficiently scarce that it will become a cherished holiday gift. Cast your eyes abroad, Celente advises us; look at what’s happening in country after country as the economy breaks down, food becomes scarce, and streets become battlefields. That’s what is coming here, he warns, and we’d better be prepared – beginning with a well-thought-out household emergency food stores.

Even if we are spared the worst, there is ample reason to prepare. A crisis emergency food plan will focus first of all on providing at least two weeks’ worth of food, water, and other essentials. This can be expanded into a long-term emergency food stores for a year’s supply – something that would be a sound investment even in stable times.
