The number one thing you need to know when it comes to business marketing online is that true business is all about relationships. That is the whole deal.

Again, if I could say one definitive statement about the heart and soul of business marketing online, I would say that it is all about building and maximizing relationships.

I once heard an internet guru say that if all you do in your business is focus on getting ten people who know ten people to trust you, then you will be successful.

No matter what niche you are in, as long as it has profit potential, as long as people are buying into the topic you are in, as long as you have done your research and know there is money in your category, then you are ready to become very wealthy.

But your business needs a solid foundation if it is going to be stable and sustainable long term. And that is what you want right? To earn a consistent, week-in and week-out income that you know will be there because you set it up properly, with the right values, and were never moved.

Never overlook the importance of building a firm business foundation. That is what sets long-term businesses apart from those who are merely shooting stars for a few months or a year.

Refuse to build a business model around dishonest methods that you would not even share with your competitors, but build one focused around quality relationships.

You know those big local businesses in your home town that just seem to have been around forever? That no matter how hard the times were, they always offer the same service, the same quality, the same reliability, and never change?

How do they do so well? Why are they able to outlast everyone else?

What is the secret to their success?

Relationships.

They have developed lasting relationships with real people. They have a core group of satisfied customers who trust their service and keep coming back over and over again for the value they know will be there.

I guarantee you that if you talk to any successful internet strategist who has done business marketing online about how to create sustainable wealth, they will tell you that you need return customers.

A business model that is based only on one-time sales is only sustainable if you have a massive advertising budget. Otherwise, nine times out of ten, return customers are the key to your long-term success and durability.

So how does a purchaser become a satisfied return customer?
By receiving a valuable product or service for a reasonable price from another human being and forming a relationship.

I am not saying you have to share your favorite color and babysit their kids.

It is about an exchange of value. That is what a relationship is about. A bond formed between two parties that is centered around the exchange of value.
