Aside from budget, another problem of business owners these days is making sales. Although they have the perfect marketing tools, they still cant get the sales number that they desire. It seems that people are immune to their marketing efforts. One of the main reasons found to be causing sales dilemma for a lot of business is actually something that is easy to avoidclosing the sale too soon. This actually means asking for the sale too soon.

A lot of business owners want to make a sale right then and there. They would not want to part ways with a prospect without closing a sale. What they dont realize is that people have to think and decide as well. In their hope to close a sale at once, instead of making a sale they wend up empty handed. People see them as an overly intrusive salesman that they get discouraged in buying at all. As a result, they not only fail to make a sale but build customer relationship as well.

As a credible business owner, you need to understand that people don't like to be sold, rather they like to buy. Often, they would only buy from someone they know and trust. For this reason, it is important that you build relationships first before jumping into sales. How do you do this?

First, you need to maintain an open communication with your customers. Respond to their inquiries at once and be sure to send greeting cards from time to time. This will help people know that you still think of them and want to do business with them again. You can also create newsletters to help inform your customers of the latest happenings and offerings in your business. This will tell them that you value them a lot as you made it a point to inform them first of the latest in your business.

Second, appreciate your customers. This doesnt actually take a lot to do. You can simply send thank you cards after every successful sale or meeting and they will know how much you value them. A lot of businesses dont do this anymore. Set your business apart from sending a card when necessary. This will surely help people trust you and be comfortable with you.

Third, offer free information. People want to get free things. Why not offer free information that will be useful to them. You can do this by giving away newsletters, offering free report, and creating your own web site. This will surely help them come back again and again as they know the latest things they need to get or buy from your business.

Finally, stay in front of your customers. In order for people to remember you, you need to stay visible to them. They need to constantly see your name or brand so they remember you all the time. You can do this by sending post cards or thank you card printing consistently. Once people are familiar with you, they will trust you more and likely to go to you when they need your product or service.

So, dont try to close sales at once. Focus on building relationship with your customers and you can easily get the sales that you need in due time. Remember, get the trust of your customers first and sales will follow later on.
