Burn Your Media Files On Cd With A Mac - Part One : Audio Cds

By:

"How an I copy my audio cd on a MAC?" is a question that will actually be answered with the tools included in each MAC, but it's a tiny tricky. So as to maintain the iTunes store as the number one commercial download shop for music, Apple has to play nice with the music business. So they did not integrate a straightforward way to repeat Audio CDs in iTunes ( which would've been simple ).

The way to achieve this is the following :

Start iTunes and insert the CD into your CD drive. ITunes will recognize the CD and mount it ( see the CD title in the left panel ). Click "Import CD" at the bottom right to import the entire CD into you iTunes collection. Dependent on your preferences this will import all titles as MP3, AAC or some other format.

Under "Music" or "recently Added" look / search for the titles and drag them onto the left panel under "Playlists". This will crate a playlist with the title of the CD and Artist.

Now click first on the title of the newly created playlist in the left panel so that it is selected. If the order of the tunes is as anticipated, click "Burn" at the bottom right to burn your CD.

Now iTunes will offer three decisions : MP3, information or Audio.

If you opt to burn a MP3 CD you could have only MP3s in you playlist, as all the other formats will be skipped.
A Data-CD however includes all file schemas and is generally suited for backups.

An Audio CD will be run on all standard CD players, MACs and PCs. You can select how a long an opening between songs you want and include the CD text. It is strongly recommended to reduce the burning speed for this option, as it will considerably improve the sound and playability.
