Bunny Rabbits Can Make Lovely Pets

Children are very fond of rabbits as they are cute looking and do not weigh more than 2.5kg to 3 kg when small. Their inquisitive look and sniffing excites the children, but they are docile creatures. They have a very thin lifeline; therefore, they should be delicately treated and handled. The animal should have the liberty to move around when not in cage. Rabbits care for fresh vegetables, clean drinking water. Their quantity of diet should increase according to their growth. Fresh hay is another diet that keeps the animal healthy. They love radish, sprouts, beet, carrot, spinach and almost all vegetables that people eat.

Rabbit can live up to ten years or more with homely care. If you leave them outdoors all the time, they may not endure that long because of predators. Wild rabbit cannot be tamed at home. There is dwarf variety of rabbit that has the same behavioral pattern of domestic rabbits but are less in weight. When you intend to bring home an infant rabbit proper vet care is essential. They see the world around them after ten days of birth.

Rabbits make a mess around the home every four months when they shed fur. The rabbit is otherwise a good choice for children if the child is not naughty. They dislike rough treatment and become aggressive. If the child is calm then both of them will make good friends. Their major disadvantage is constant chewing habit even electrical chords. Therefore, elderly care is essential when they are moving outside the cage.

There are over forty five types of rabbits available, which many people do not know. Therefore, they mistakenly decide some unknown breed from the pet store. Choosing a perfect breed is as difficult as selecting a pedigree puppy. They classify into groups, by their body- size and shape. The cage is crucial for any breed of rabbit. If you keep the animal indoors, then an indoor rabbit hutch is right choice. Similarly for outdoor shelter, an outdoor hutch is the perfect choice.
