Building A Proud Political Heritage

Within the state of Arkansas there are many beautiful spots to build a home and establish a residence. The state of Arkansas is located in the southern United States where the humidity of the region feels like walking through a constant shower. The state is known for having the largest diamond mine in the United States and is a haven for outdoor sports like fishing and hunting. The residents of Arkansas are proud of the their southern heritage and in particular for the political leadership that has emerged from the state.

Two governors from the Arkansas capital of Little Rock have made runs for the white house as presidential candidates. The first, Bill Clinton served two consecutive terms as president of the United States in the 1990s before stepping out of the political spotlight. The second is Mike Huckabee who served as Arkansas governor for more than 10 years before running in the 2008 presidential election. Although he was not elected, former Governor Huckabee continues his run for the white house and is planning to be included in the 2012 election for the highest office in the country.

Aside from producing presidential candidates, Arkansas is home to many thriving businesses and is the global headquarters for Maybeline cosmetics and discount retail giant Wal-Mart. The executives of these companies building their corporate operations in the downtown business centers of Little Rock where Arkansas real estate prices have been favorable to buyers and sellers of Little Rock homes for sale. The rolling hills and vales of central Arkansas are divided by the majestic Arkansas River that cuts through the center of Little Rock separating the city into two sides.

North Little Rock on the northern banks of the Arkansas River and Little Rock to the south makeup a thriving metropolitan city that is home to many attractions and lively residents. Each year a festival held on the banks of the river in downtown Little Rock, draws in hundreds of thousands of people that come from all parts of the country to enjoy the southern music and barbeque flavoring of pulled pork and ribs. While the economy of Arkansas has been affected by the global financial forecast the real estate market has not been widely altered.

In Little Rock, AR homes for sale are about where they were priced a year ago and people are continuing to buy and sell their properties in the real estate market without much ado. While the unemployment rate is up in the state the residents of Arkansas are still enjoying the laid back southern lifestyle and working hard to keep their industrial and political heritage alive and well.
