Building A Life With Medical Transcription

Building A Life With Medical Transcription

By:

I have a full time job already one could say. I'm a mother. This is the main reason I'd like to become a medical transcriptionist. I am a stay at home mom, taking care of my daughter on a day to day basis and I would like to contribute to the income while still being able to stay home and spend time with my daughter. I think it would be a great advantage because I can work from home, I can set my own hours, and if something needs to be done I can get up and do it without having to worry about getting into trouble. I love spending time with my family and I'm very independent. I've always had trouble in a retail working environment because I don't like being treated like a drone or a nobody. I like to be my own person and working out of the home will allow me to do that. In a sense I can be my own boss and keep my family a priority.
My husbands grandmother encouraged me to find medical transcription jobs, as she has a sister and a daughter who do it. After hearing how much the two of them enjoy it, it really sounded like something I would like to do as a career. I love to write and had even hoped to become a writer one day but until then I believe this would be a great place to start and still have a steady source of income while doing something I love to do. I could think of a dozen things I'd like to do in terms of long term goals. Opening my own business would be a dream come true. Being a medical transcriptionist might even motivate me to continue with my own personal writing. I would love to specialize in a specific medical field. Perhaps pediatrics could be a goal since I love children. Five years down the road I'd like to see myself as an accomplished writer but still have something to fall back on if that doesn't happen. If this turns into a lifelong career then that would be perfectly fine with me. I'd like to use this as an opportunity to go back to school and perhaps this would encourage me to go into the medical field. SN:0TG9Y2ESY
My husband has been unemployed for many months now and finding work is becoming a job in itself. The economy is making life quite depressing these days. We would like to have some peace of mind as well as be able to help out others who are struggling. He had a nice job, working at the Dollar General Warehouse distribution center near where we lived. He was fired due to policy breach. We found out later that he hadn't breached any policies but there was nothing we could do about it. He is currently unavailable for rehire. Its amazing that in a time like we live in that people are allowed to do those kinds of things to each other. I think medical transcription will be a stable job for me and I won't have to have that fear of losing my job over jealousy and pure hatefulness. Doing medical transcription will give my family peace of mind and give me the career I've needed to straighten out for a long time. I have the motivation, I just need the opportunity.
