Build Your Motor Home a Dream House

By: Rochelle Steelsen

Though you may be proud of your motor home, it is actually far more than just a status symbol: it is your escape to freedom from the daily grind. It is relaxation and the renewal of your spirit for all of your hard work and sacrifice. It is the best way to travel the country and see aspects of America that tourists miss out on. Just knowing that your flight to freedom is ready and waiting to whisk you away can help reduce your stress level as you fantasize about your next great escape.

You should consider yourself very lucky if you have an area available on your property to store your motor home. Your RV is available whenever you need to get away on a lighthearted trip and still have all the comforts of home. If your RV has a shelter of its own where it will be protected from the elements, dust, and debris, you will be able to head out more quickly and easily whenever you take the notion, not having to waste all that precious time cleaning up your RV. Do you think your motor home is worthy of a house of its own? More than likely, the response is an emphatic yes!

You could use a vinyl tarp tied to metal pipes as a shelter if you don't have a lot of money. The problem is they look shoddy and your neighbors probably wouldn't like it. Another option that is far more reasonably priced than you may expect is to purchase a custom-built garage that will shelter your motor home, attractively matching the style of your house and keeping your neighbors happy.

You need to find a company that has experience in constructing garages and sheds in a variety of styles so they will have a design to enhance your home and property. It might be a stucco with a tile roof, or a lap siding which comes with shingle roof, or even a traditional design or a Tudor design. A customized garage can be built from the ground up just as you specify. A custom-built, high quality garage will blend into the outside ambience of your home making it look fantastic and last for many years.

One style that is quite popular today is the livery RV garage. The center is designed to be tall and the side wings, that can be on one or both sides, are shorter. These wings can be left open or they can be closed off to create an entirely separate area, such as a work shop, home office, or a guest house. It is a great way to provide extra, usable space for your family. This architectural design is well suited to communities with equestrian ranch style settings.

Selecting the best company to build your new garage will be the most important decision you make, regardless of what style you decide to go with. You should choose an experienced company that shows a strong dedication to customer service. You may also want a company that will completely build your new garage on-site, rather than it being prefabricated at a factory and having the pieces simply put together on your property. A reputable company will provide a fair warranty, testimonials with contacts to previous customers, pictures showing a variety of their work and a courteous, helpful, and professional staff. Once you have found the perfect company to build your motor home's "dream house," the rest will be easy.

The California rv garage they built matched her house perfectly and was surprisingly affordable, considering it was a custom garage in San Diego.
