Pests are a big problem for most gardeners. Plants don't stand a chance against some of those pests since they work too quickly. Though majority of garden pests can't to major damage, it's still annoying for gardeners to find within their crops.

Some facts about vegetable garden pests coming right up. Aphids are extremely common in vegetable gardens. You'll usually see clusters of very tiny insects with soft bodies in various colours. Corn earworms damage the corn kernels before the corn is harvested. The insides of tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants are eaten by tomato fruitworms. Earworm insecticides should be sprayed regularly on your plants to prevent a repeat damage in the next season.

Slugs and snails leave nasty slime trails on plants and eat plant leaves. They are especially destructive to cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes, turnips, and carrots. A pan of beer works as bait for these slimy things, but you can have the store-bought bait if you want.

Deformed leaf tips and white markings on leaves are indicative of thrips. They often plague beans, carrots, melons, and more. You get rid of thrips be hosing them off the plants and spraying with contact poison.

Tomato hornworms are one of the scariest looking garden pests. They love tomato, pepper, and eggplant leaves and fruits. They resemble actually resemble caterpillars. A stinger-like horn sets them apart from caterpillars. You can remove them with gloved hands and drown them in soapy water. You can also spray with neem oil, stomach poison insecticide, or Bacillus thuringiensis.
