Buffets At Global Fusion | Mumbai

What you see - Located in Link Square Mall in Bandra, Mumbai, Global Fusion is a buffet only restaurant. A tiny elevator takes you to the third floor where the reservation desk has a smiling hostess and a board with buffet prices. The family resto bar has high roofs, water channels with colorful fishes, a very well done bar in bright red and a huge seating area. Guests can choose to seat either on high sofas, comfortable chairs or a gold pagoda.

What you get - The question here is where do you start since there are almost 200 dishes on display. Unlimited mineral water, iced tea and soft drinks are included in the buffet prices but alcoholic drinks are charged separately. Guests get to sample Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Indonesian, Malaysian, Cantonese and Japanese cuisine along with Sushi. Live kitchens are interspersed with various counters for soup and starters, sushi, teppanyaki and tempura.

The spread is well balanced with equal number of vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices. We headed to the soup and starter counter and settled for Hot and sour chicken soup that was spicy and sour in taste. For the starters, we could select from Dumplings, Dim sums, Tempura, Fritters, Salad and Spring rolls. We tried the Chicken and prawn dumplings and found them well done and tasty. Prawn fritters were crisp and mildy flavored with fresh herbs. The sushi counter had almost twenty kinds of Sushi and Sashimi. The main course served in the adjoining section had Thai curry, Steamed rice, Chinese hakka noodles, Vegetables in oyster sauce, sea food items like Pepper crab and Fish in hot and tangy sauce. The dessert corner had a variety of cakes and pastries like Chocolate mud cake, Blueberry cheese cake, Flavored jelly and Baskin Robbins Ice Cream corner.

Our verdict - Global Fusion is a value for money buffet restaurant which takes you on an unforgettable culinary journey. Guests should try small portions to decide what they like from the spread and then enjoy second helpings. Most of the items are self service but a few are freshly made and bought to your table. Buffet prices vary from around Rs. 650 to less than Rs. 1,000 based on whether it is lunch or dinner on weekdays or weekends. Enjoy a quiet romantic evening or celebrate birthdays or anniversary with friends and loved ones. Either way try the restaurant at least once. Valet parking facility is provided.

What you pay for a meal for two Rs. 650-950
