Bruce Lee Fan? Then Check Out These 3 Top Fitness Films About Fighting

When it comes to making a good action movie, you need at least 1 good fight scene. However, some films don't stop there. They actually devote a whole film to fighting. In this article I will be showing my appreciation for those films by listing 3 of the best fitness films about fighting.

1) BLOODSPORT:

Bloodsport is the film that launched Jean Claude Van Damme's film career. Some people will hate it for that fact, others will love it. I'm in the latter camp. Whilst there is no denying that Van Damme is a pretty poor actor, when it comes to fighting he's got the moves and he demonstrates this perfectly in Bloodsport. The entire movie is about a secret Hong Kong based fighting tournament and this means Van Damme is free to kick butt for most of the film. Bloodsport is a brilliant fitness film about fighting and a perfect showcase for Van Damme to demonstrate his martial arts skills without too much acting getting in the way.

2) ENTER THE DRAGON:

Enter the Dragon was Bruce Lee's first Hollywood film. Sadly, it was also his final film and he died at the tender age of 32 just before Enter The Dragon was released. Despite his untimely death, Bruce Lee left a lasting legacy and recorded some of the best fight scenes that have ever been committed to film. Like Bloodsport, Enter The Dragon focusses on a secret fighting contest - a storyline that allows Bruce Lee to showcase his brilliant fighting skills. We get to see Bruce Lee fighting in the tournament, fighting wave after wave of guards and then finally fighting the main villain Han in the iconic final hall of mirrors scene.

3) NEVER BACK DOWN:

Never Back Down also focusses on a fighting contest. This time it's taking place at high school and the tournament is called 'The Beatdown'. It follows Jake Tyler as he moves schools, makes enemies with the fighting champion of his new school - Ryan McCarthy and then plans to face him in 'The Beatdown'. This fitness film has a number of good fight scenes throughout and culminates with an impressive final brawl in a car park.

SUMMARY:

It's difficult to put a finger on why this type of movie holds such appeal but you just cannot top a good fighting film. So if you are looking for a couple of hours of bone crunching entertainment, grab 1 of these fitness films about fighting and enjoy.
