What is a browlift?
A browlift, also called a forehead lift, is a cosmetic surgery procedure which reduces the appearance of forehead wrinkles and frown lines, as well as repositions the eyebrows for a more youthful appearance.

Who is a good candidate for a browlift?

Prospective candidates should be in generally overall good physical health, with some level of skin elasticity. Patients are encouraged to stop smoking well before the procedure to reduce the risk of serious side effects. Those who have severe forehead wrinkles, frown lines, or sagging eyebrows can benefit from a browlift.

What is the general procedure of a browlift?

During a browlift, the patient is first put under general anesthesia. An incision is then made along the hairline from ear to ear, excess skin is removed, and the forehead is altered before suturing the incision.

What is an endoscopic browlift?

An endoscopic procedure can address the eyebrow levels, upper eyelids and part of the lower lids, as well as frown lines. Smaller incisions are used, which leads to less numbness and scarring. This technique also allows for reduced damage to the natural hair.

What can I expect during my consultation?

Your cosmetic surgeon will examine and measure your face, then advise you of any additional procedures you may want to consider. He/she will ask of what youd like to change and achieve, and determine if you are at risk for any complications due to personal medical history and/or medications.

When can I return to work?

Most forehead lift patients are able to return to work within two to three weeks. Healing will take place over several weeks, and complete results will be realized after several months.

What will I experience after surgery?

Typically, a tube will be used to drain excess fluid or blood for the first few days after your browlift. Any sutures which do not dissolve on their own will be removed between five and ten days after surgery.

A head bandage and cold compresses will help to reduce swelling, and patients are advised to elevate their head when lying down. Most patients will experience numbness or tingling after their browlift, but these symptoms should gradually subside over time.
