Britney Spears To Get Married One More Time, Could A Destination Wedding Be On The Cards?

Pop singer Britney Spears has announced that she will soon be getting married one more time after her boyfriend Jason Trawick popped the question on his 40th birthday.

Last month, rumours were circulating that singer would be joining in on the trend of destination weddings by planning a tropical ceremony in Maui in Hawaii or Costa Rica in spring 2012.

Britney hinted about the proposal on Twitter earlier this week saying: "OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo"

Jason, Britneys former agent, popped the question during a romantic meal on his 40th birthday and reportedly gave her a Neil Lane engagement ring with a three carat round diamond and pave diamonds on the band.

The 40-year-old is also said to have asked Britneys father and sister for their blessing on the marriage.

A close source said: "This is something they've both wanted for a long time. It's a way to cement their family. They're both extremely happy and can't wait to become man and wife."

Britney began dating Jason, who was her then her agent, in early 2009 after she made the first move.

The 30-year-old pop star is no stranger to walking down the aisle and this will be her third wedding. The pop star married her childhood friend Jason Alexander in 2004, which lasted just 55 hours, and later that year she married American dancer Kevin Federline. That marriage lasted a little longer and the couple had two children together but they divorced in 2007.

So, like many other celebrities who choose destination weddings over traditional ceremonies at home, will Britney be getting married abroad or at home?

The pair were rumoured to be considering tropical weddings in Costa Rica or Maui in Hawaii next spring but according to the close source, it wont be happening any time soon.

An increasing number of couples are choosing weddings abroad and 2011 has seen many celebrities choose exotic wedding destinations for their nuptials. These include American Pie actress Tara Reid and Zack Kehayov, who got married in Santorini in Greece, Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo who exchanged vows on Necker Island in the Caribbean; Shania Twain and Frederic Thiebaud who tied the knot with a beach wedding in Puerto Rico on New Year's Day; and Irish singer Sinead OConnor who had a whirlwind wedding with her internet boyfriend of three months in Las Vegas last week.
