Bring Fresh, Natural Fragrance To Your Home

By:

Whenever I'm watching television, I inevitably see multiple ads for average household cleaning products, including scented fabric sprays and air fresheners. While I make every effort to keep my home clean, most of these items introduce a chemical smell of some kind that ultimately makes me feel ill.

That's why I started exploring more natural ways to bring an overall more pleasant aroma to my home. If you, too, are sick of the artificial ingredients that leave a headache in their wake, then consider substituting these more natural products in your home.

For use around my own home, I personally favor incense and the soy wax candle. Why? Because the ventilation in my home tends to spread the fragrance of lit incense very well, so once I light it downstairs, its scent quickly spreads.

Soy wax candles are rapidly growing in popularity because they are the all-American "green" candles. The vegetable wax typically comes from America's soybean crops, and since the materials used are all-natural and biodegradable, they offer you a small chance to help the environment.

Soy wax has also shown to melt slower than traditional paraffin, so every candle you purchase will go further. But if you're not sure you're totally in love with a certain scent, then you can always buy votives!

Chances are, you've seen an oil reed diffuser in an aromatherapy specialty store--or even just at the local supermarket. What's so special about those, and why do they seem to be emerging everywhere?

Oil reed diffusers require absolutely no heat or electricity, so they're a great alternative to lit candles, candle warmers, incense, and plug-in fresheners. They are safe virtually anywhere, so if you need a refreshing scent in the nursery but don't want to leave a candle burning, this is the way to go. Plus, they offer long-term fragrance with minimal maintenance. Some can last up to four months, making this about as cost-effective as household aroma comes!

Warmers of varying kinds are becoming increasingly popular for those who crave the enticing scent of candles but would prefer to avoid the flame. Candle warmers need to be plugged into an electrical outlet and switched on in order to be functional, but they work by liquefying the wax, which effectively diffuses the scent over a larger area than it would if the candle's wick were merely lit.

Other types of warmers work by melting a wax cube in a bowl structure or by heating aromatic oils.

Any of these methods is meant to bring natural, calming fragrance into your home. As you choose the one that's right for you, you'll find that your personal spaces are more relaxing to be in, diminishing those chemical headaches once and for all.
