Bremen Travel Attractions

By:

Bremen is known to be a terrific city, a metropolis which is home to roughly 2,500,000 denizens, without counting the tens of thousands of visitors flooding the city annually. It is quite an old city, nearly 1,800 years old, and this means that tourists have many things to see there, because Germans are very fond of their historic inheritance. In Bremen there are whole streets with buildings hundreds of years old.

Picture yourself taking a stroll in the Schnoor, an avenue that formerly was populated by shippers and fishermen, and that was restored with great responsibility, maintaining the 18th century ambiance. In present days this road is a place where people can see picturesque cafes, art galleries and artisan shops. It will certainly be an enjoyable diversion for any traveler.

The cultural facet of the big metropolis is of the utmost importance, and people love visiting the classy museums and attending to plays at the Bremer Theater, this being an outstanding experience for most people.

One of the most interesting museums is the Focke Museum, a great attraction, putting on display items of art, history, and culture. Oftentimes it houses photo exhibits from the best photographers and painting galleries of the most appreciated modern-day painters. However, mainly, the Focke Museum reveals its guests tons of stuff, and I'm talking about fishing rods, gramophones, pistols, swords, tables... you get my point. What makes them very attractive is their age. Who wouldn't appreciate seeing tools that men and women used in their lifetime hundreds of years ago? The exhibit is absolutely unique, with items dating back to the Roman times, newly unearthed from the Bremen archeological digs that take place even today.

A great feature of the Focke Museum is a real Hansekogge, a port vessel that was quite common in this city in the 14th century. Lots of boatmen and fishermen used this sort of boat to do their jobs, even though it was designed to be a rescue ship. Ithas a rare design, as only some city ports in Europe were using it, and, if there were boats like these in other cities, you could be certain they were either made in Bremen, or the plans were copied and somebody created a replica.

One other interesting place to go is the Bremen Theater, for culture-loving tourists. It is a gigantic structure, and itwas the witness of some big time plays and concerts throughout the 20th century which gave this place a great boost in popularity. Only the best musicians and artists manage to have their show at the Bremen Theater, which shows us that it is very attractive and this is the reason it is THE place to be when going to Bremen. If you want to see a show at this theater, you will want to buy a ticket a few days before the concert, show or play you want to attend to.

Anyhow, the point is that Bremen is a city that has many things to offer to its inhabitants and even more to offer to its guests, and a week in this city can mean a lot to men and women who want to see an extraordinary place for the holidays.
