Breath Meditation And Energy Healing

By:

It is important that you spend some time using breath meditation techniques to properly align your mind and body. These meditations are particularly helpful if you will be performing a guided meditation to assist you with developing your energy healing skills. There are many healing quotes about the importance of controlled breathing. The following guided meditation will help you quiet your mind and become in tune with the flow of energies through your body. Pay special attention to the breathing instructions.

Start by assuming the lotus position. If you cannot do so, come as close as possible before beginning. You should also dim the lights, but do not turn them off, and never close your eyes entirely. Closed eyes and lack of light lead to production of melatonin in the body, which will cause drowsiness and lead to sleep.

1.After assuming the lotus position, take several deep breaths. Each breath should be slightly deeper than the last, but none should be so deep as to be painful.
2.Breath from the abdomen. Imagine that your belly button is being pulled outward and draw your breath to that depth. Do not breath with the chest.
3.After several of these breaths, you develop a feeling of comfort in the abdomen and chest. This is because of the increase in oxygen and the stretching of muscles that rarely get used.
4.As you find this comfort, continue breathing deeply and exhaling completely, but start to think the simple word in on each inward breath, and out on each outward breath.
5.Continue this until your mind is quiet and you have eliminated most thoughts.
6.Once you feel you are ready to proceed with sole concentration on this task, begin to imagine an energy slowly streaming from the top of your head towards the sky.
7.Imagine that this is the negative energy that you have collected over the course of your life. There is much negative energy in your body, so continue to focus on sending it towards the cosmos.
8.As you continue to push the negative energy from your being, you will begin to feel an emptiness. This is normal, as your body requires a set amount of energy to function.
9.This is the most challenging step, as it requires three tasks simultaneously. Continue draining negative energy, but consciously push away any negative energy that is in your vicinity. You must then begin to consciously absorb the positive energy in your surroundings to fill the gaps.
10.Continue this process for as long as you are able. Be sure that when you are complete, you ground yourself again by doing the in/out breathing technique from step 4.

Repeat this process daily for as long as you can. Eventually you will find that the negative energy leaves your body quickly while you rapidly absorb the positive energy. This is not because you have improved your skill, but because you have found the new equilibrium, relying entirely on positive energy.
