A candid consultation session is necessary for the patient and the doctor before the operation. There may be enquiries about the lifestyle, health and expectations of the patient. He may be asked about his previous surgeries, allergies, current medication and supplement intake. Potential risks, outcomes and other consequences may also be discussed with him and recommendations may be given.
