When it comes to breast implants, besides choosing a doctor, one of the most important decisions you will make is the size. Go to your doctor with at least an idea of what size you would like, but utilize your doctor to choose the proper size for your body type, and what you want aesthetically. You want to make the best decision that is right for your body type, and talking with your doctor is the best way to reach that goal

At your consultation, be sure to mention if you are a little more conservative in what you want or if you want to a large change, and if you want a large change, be sure say how big so you can come to a conclusion on what is best based on the diameter and the volume you want.

Cup sizers are also a good way for you and your doctor to visually see what you would like and what he/she thinks is best for you. When considering breast implants, you cannot just say you want to be a 36 D. Do you want to be a full, medium or small 36 D? Also, it won't be very helpful if you tell a doctor the amount of cc's, as the number of cc's is different for every woman depending on their starting cup size. Puzzled? Don't be. When it comes to implants, sizing is different than natural chest size, including when it comes to bras.

Say you're still thinking a 36 D, since an enhanced chest tends to be wider than a natural one, when you go to buy a bra, surprise, you may end up being a 36 DD because the cup on the D bra isn't wide enough. More than likely, in clothes, you will still look like a 36 D, but this is something to consider when talking to your doctor about an exact size.

The best option to get what you want is to bring in visual aids with you. Find pictures that best represent the breast implant size you want. Find a photo of a person who has the same body type as you with the chest that you would like. If you use a picture with someone bigger or smaller than you, this won't be a good representation of what you are looking for. Bring in a bra that you would like to fill out. Even if you stuff your bra, and take photos, this will all help to get you the size you want. This will get the conversation going in your consultation and allow the doctor to see what you want.
