Following the procedure, a woman is likely to feel tired and sore for a few days, but she will likely be up and around in twenty-four to forty-eight hours. She must restrict heavy duty exercising for roughly two to three weeks after the surgery. It will likely be recommended that no bra or support be worn for about two months because this will allow for the implants to settle into their desired position.

Most of the post-operative discomfort can be controlled through the use of medication. The swelling in a woman's breasts may take up to five weeks to disappear. The final results from the mammoplasty surgery will appear between three and six months after the surgery.
